SCORM Cloud, a tool developed by Rustici software is quite popularly used by e-learning developers to test their files for LMS compatibility. In the part 1 of this post, I am sharing a step by step approach on how to upload a  file on SCORM Cloud.

Step 1 :

Create an absolutely free account on SCORM Cloud and log in to your account.  In the SCORM Cloud homepage on the top right corner you can see the option as “Add Content”. Click on that option and continue to the next step.

Step 2 :

After selecting “Add Content” option you will get various options as :

• Import a SCORM, AICC, xAPI or cmi5 package
• ScoTube – Create a course from video
• Quizzage – Create a quiz or survery
• Import from your FTP Space

Click on the 1st option i.e. “Import a SCORM, AICC, xAPI or cmi5 package”

Step 3 :

After you select “Import a SCORM, AICC, xAPI or cmi5 package” you will land on the page as shown in the image above.

Note :

While importing a course package into SCORM Cloud, the file has to be in .zip format and either it needs to be in SCORM, AICC or xAPI course package.

SCORM package needs to have a imsmanifest.xml file which describes the course and its content.

xAPI package has to be in tincan.xml file and needs to send xAPI statements to the SCORM Cloud Learning Record Store.

AICC package needs to be zipped up with the 4 AICC descriptor files (AU, CRS, CST, & DES).

cmi5 package must include a ‘cmi5.xml’ file which includes a list of assignable units (AU)

Step 4 :

Select “Choose file” option and then select the SCORM package from your computer drive/storage. After you have selected the file click on “Import Course” option.

Step 5 :

Wait for the file to be uploaded in the SCORM Cloud.

Step 6 :

Once you have uploaded the course in SCORM Cloud, you can see the course details in Library options.

Step 7 :

By selecting the “Launch” option, you can launch the course.  watch out for part 2 of my post to understand the other parameters like completion, success etc.
